Swap shop time again

16 March 2011

Recycling toys (large version)Are you thinking of having a spring clear out? Got any clothes, books, toys or small furniture you no longer need? Do you want to swap your old novels for some new kitchenware?

Why not come along to our Give or Take day this Saturday (19 March) at West Parley Village Hall from 9.30am to noon.

These events are a great way to get rid of any good quality items you no longer want and perhaps pick up something you do. Plus it’s free – you don’t even need to bring anything along.

You’ll also be helping the environment by preventing useable items from ending up in landfill sites. Re-use savvy residents of Weymouth, Portland and West Dorset saved over 1.2 tonnes of unwanted items from going to landfill at a Give or Take day in Chickerell (opens in new window) earlier this year – let’s see if we can do the same or better this Saturday.

Swap shop in Portland

29 September 2010

We’re holding a second Give or Take day in Portland this Saturday (2 October 2010). The popular recycling exchange event returns to the Community 2000 Centre, next to All Saints Church, 6 Straits, Easton from 9.30am to noon.

Similar to a jumble sale, the event is a great way to recycle your unwanted but reusable items by finding them a new home.

So if you have any unwanted books, DVDs, toys, clothes, small furniture or bric-a-brac taking up space in your home, why not bring them along and let others take them away with them.

And, even if you haven’t got any items to give away, you are welcome to come along and take something away free of charge.

If you don’t have anything you can bring along don’t let that stop you visiting, you are welcome to come and take something away free of charge.

Friday’s events are taking place at St Leonards and St Ives Village Hall, and Upway and Broadway Memorial Hall, Victoria Avenue, Weymouth between 9:30am and noon.
