Time for a New Year’s clear out?

Recycling toys (large version)Have you received some unwanted gifts, spent too much money in the sales or do you simply want to de-clutter your home?

Now is a great time for a clear out. But before you throw out unwanted clothes, toys, books, furniture and large electrical items, why not consider taking these items to local charity shops (opens in new window) and furniture reuse groups.

this way you will be giving others a chance to provide a second home for your unwanted items and preventing them from ending up in landfill.

And, if you’re still making your New Year’s resolutions, don’t forget reducing, reusing and recycling waste is simple, easy to do and really makes a difference. So that’s one resolution you can stick to.

You can always eBay the items for charity too. Easy to do, and can raise a lot of money. An example of this for Weldmar Hospicecare Trust at http://www.weld-hospice.org.uk/support-weldmar/ways-to-support/ebay-shop/
