The Dorset Waste Partnership is here

Recycle it's a way of life in Dorset (large version)The Dorset Waste Partnership (DWP) is now running waste and cleansing services on behalf of five of the seven Dorset Councils.

Residents in Christchurch, East Dorset, North Dorset, and Purbeck now have their refuse and recycling collections, plus street cleansing run by the DWP. The household recycling centres, treatment and disposal of waste and waste reduction promotions across the county are also managed by the partnership.

The partnership is managing an in-house workforce to collect waste and keep streets and beaches clean. It is headed up by DWP Director, Steve Burdis, who was appointed following a national recruitment process.

West Dorset District Council and Weymouth and Portland Borough Council will transfer their services and staff to the DWP in 2013 but are actively engaged with the partnership.

The DWP is already off to an excellent start, it recently triumphed at the Improvement and Efficiency South East awards, jointly winning the ‘Working together’ category.
