Schoolchildren set to make a splash in Swanage

by

Enthusiastic pupils and teachers of St. Mark’s CE VA First School and their families will be helping to keep Swanage beach beautiful by taking part in a beach clean this Saturday (14 May 2011). Kicking off at 10am, volunteers will be giving up a few hours of their time to help remove unsightly litter and other debris from the seafront.

Our recycling officers will also be at the event, daring parents, children and teachers to take our Tap Water Challenge to see whether they can taste the difference between bottled and tap water. The challenge is part of our campaign to encourage local people to give bottles the boot in favour of clean, fresh tap water to help save money, waste and the environment.

Did you know only 10 per cent of water bottles are recycled – the rest go to landfill?
