Toys taken to a Give or Take day to find new homes (large version)A free summer reuse event is returning to Portland this Saturday (20 August 2011). Taking place at Islanders Club for Young People from 9.30am to 12:30pm, the community ‘Give or Take’ day promises to be a great event.

If you’ve recently had a clear out of your unwanted books, toys, tools, bric-a-brac, kitchenware or small furniture, why not bring them along to the event and see if anyone else wants to give them a second lease of life.

You can also speak to recycling officers about your local recycling scheme, stopping junk mail, reusable nappies and other ways to reduce your waste.

Plus, Portland Women’s Institute will be selling cakes and refreshments on the day, and there will also be a free mobile skate park provided by West Dorset ‘Action Van’ for youngsters.

Read more about the event or come along and see us tomorrow!

      Hi Liz,

We haven’t got a Give or Take day planned for Sturminster Marshall this year. However, we do have ones taking place at Willowbed Hall in Chickerell this Saturday (8 October 2011) and at Twynham Church in Christchurch on 26 November 2011. Also, keep checking http://www.dorsetforyou.com/recyclingevents for up and coming events.

      Thanks.
