Green light for Broomhills

by

Dorset County Council’s Cabinet has given the go-ahead to progress with a planning application to site a waste management facility at Broomhills, Bridport.

If successful, the new site will consist of a household recycling centre to replace the current one in South Street, Bridport, which operates a reduced weekend service due to planning constraints, and a waste and recycling transfer station.

After considering a report assessing Broomhills’ suitability for this much needed facility, Cabinet agreed that the Dorset Waste Partnership should now undertake detailed design work to progress with a planning application.

It was also agreed that traffic signals should be installed to provide access to the site, and that negotiations with the landowner to purchase an option on the land should also be concluded.
