Get set for the new recycling service


recycle for dorset familyThe new recycle for Dorset service starts from 10 June in North Dorset and parts of East Dorset, including Alderholt, Corfe Mullen, Cranborne and Sixpenny Handley.

Here are a few tips to help you make the most of the new service:

  • Use your calender to double check your collection dates, and whether it is a recycling or a rubbish week
  • Please put items in your recycling bin loose (no plastic bags/liners)
  • Seperate you glass jars and bottles and put them in your green box – not your recycling bin
  • Your containers should be placed at the kerbside by 7am on your collection day
  • Collections may be at a different time of day, up until the late afternoon, please wait until the end of the day before reporting your collection as missed
  • Please place your wheelie bin with its handle facing the road and ‘lock’ your food bin by moving the handle to the front
  • Rubbish placed outside your bin will not be collected
  • Extra recycling will be collected if placed in boxes, with glass kept separate
  • You should only use compostable liners or newspaper to line your food caddy, you should have recieved a sample with your information pack. You can buy more compostable liners from various stockists. For a list, go to
