WEEE recycle your electronics

by

electricalsHave you avoided throwing out the old toaster because you’re not sure what to do with it? Don’t worry, here at the Dorset Waste Partnership we have the answer.

First things first, don’t put it in with your household waste or recycling! It needs to be specially recycled, but that’s easy in Dorset…

If it still works think about reuse:

  • Check whether your one of your friends or family are interested in giving your old appliances a second lease on life
  • Try selling it – old mobile phones, computers and tablets which still work usually have some value so why not try selling it? EBay is a great place to start.
  • And of course you can always donate it – just be sure it is clean and in good working order before send it off

If it is broken:

Or a large appliance take it to your local Household Recycling Centre;  small electronics can also be dropped off at your nearest electrical recycling bank.
